Cults
Many people fear being involved in a cult.
Cults are often characterised by having a "powerful" leader although they may be insecure within themselves.
Certain rules are made and members often appear brainwashed and never see the obvious faults of their leader.
Many cult leaders have taken advantage of people at a time of emotional weakness and have lived lives of luxury at the expense of those that have become brainwashed.
A cult can often take on a religious character with a leader being able to quote from the Bible and seek a blind obedience from their followers using quotations from the Bible to rule through fear.
The Bible clearly demonstrates the flaws and weaknesses in humanity.
Its pages direct all of us Heavenward and warn us of the correct path and enjoin the reader, or hearer through preaching, to take the course that God Himself has provided.
For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 3:16.
The same chapter of the Bible also has the words “Marvel not that I said unto thee ye must be born again”. John 3:7.
The greatest of all leaders the Lord Jesus Christ was "meek and lowly" witness the words from Paul’s epistle to the Corinthians- “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus that though He was rich yet for your sakes He became poor that ye through His poverty might be rich” 2 Corinthians 8:9. How much in contrast is this to those who make themselves rich by demanding the money of their followers.
We are perishing souls, dear reader, and God has provided a way of escape from the everlasting fires of Hell where we would be separated from God for eternity.
He wants us to be with Him and He has sent His only begotten Son so that we might have everlasting life.
If you yield your heart to the Saviour and allow Him through the barriers of the stubborn heart that exists in every one of us you will have everlasting life and the assurance that comes with it.
